Non-functional
I could not measure continuity between any two of the 8 connection pins when pressing any button firmly. I disassembled one of the two units I bought -- a single sided PCB with a solder mask and resistive ink to crossover traces. I could not even make continuity between any connector pin and the switch pad that it was wired to, or between switch pads within the same row or column. I considered trying to repair with #30 wire to replace the non-functional resistive ink, but even the rubber membrane surface wouldn't bridge the switch pads reliably. Into the landfill they go.

Keypad X/Y Matrix 16 Button 34789
I purchased 5 of these keypads and tested 2. Both are junk. To make them respond you need to POUND on the keys. If you dont have a means to confirm what key was pressed you will get erroneous data because the key press may not register. In the past MPJA sold the 18316-SW Keypad which was far superior to this version.

arduino compatible
Because this is arduino compatible, I was able to make a door lock with this keypad. Thanks MPJA!
